The live entertainment industry is exciting, dynamic and all about delivering fantastic customer experiences.

However, the cutting-edge technology, professionalism and excitement presented on stage is only just starting to filter behind the scenes to deliver a better experience for the entire customer journey, both pre and post event.

Previously, the main focus had been on the quality of the artists and their ability to entertain. Major venues had tended to provide a space for events and basic processes for getting large numbers of customers in and out, fed and watered. Ticketing was often provided by venue-based box offices or left in the hands of a small number of very large ticket agencies.

Customers were forced to queue in line, even camping overnight at the venue, or endured a long wait on the phone to secure tickets that were then posted out in the mail several months later.

And this was only on the ticketing side…
