The most expensive matches in football…

Today sees the start of what many see as football’s most lucrative set of matches.

The Championship Playoffs see the four promotion hopefuls fight it out for a place at Wembley Stadium with the dream of reaching the Premier League.

With the new TV rights deal starting from the start of the 2016/17 season there has never been a more important time to reach the top flight of English football.

One team – Brighton & Hove Albion, Derby County, Sheffield Wednesday and Hull City – will be joining Burnley and Middlesbrough earning a predicted £130 million for just one season in the UK’s top flight if they were to win the Wembley final on 28 May.

Impressively, last year’s final saw over 85,000 fans attend the Play-Off Final at Wembley Stadium which will be the catalyst for what promises to be a great summer of international football in France.
