It’s been an eventful year, to say the least in the grand scheme of things. Political unrest, economic downturn and more than our fair share of farewells to some of our idols. But, although the world may seem to be having a metaphorical seizure, we’re focusing on the positives and we have to say for us, the year has been an outstanding one!
We kicked off the year with Nordic Venue Forum 2016 all the way back in March (seems like forever ago now, right?). The wonderful people of Malmö hosted us and – amidst a fantastic, international speaker line up – delegates were treated to a private performance by the Malmö Symphony Orchestra and a never-before seen sound and light performance by the amazing technical team at Malmö Live.
Next on the roster we hosted our Ticketing Technology Forum 2016 in Dublin and the event smashed all existing records. We hosted delegates from all over the world (28 different countries to be exact), achieved our highest attendance to date (with over 420 attendees) and launched the innaugural Ticketing Technology Awards at The Guinness Storehouse which was an even bigger success than we could have hoped for.
With just four weeks to recover and refresh, in June the team packed up and headed to Madrid to host the 7th edition of TheStadiumBusiness Summit to an exceptionally high-level crowd. The highlight for all was the once-in-a-lifetime experience of a private dinner on the pitch of the Santiago Bernabeu where the winners of TheStadiumBusiness Awards were announced – a truly exceptional night. The Summer for the XP team was spent making plans for 2017 and, of course, a much-deserved team party in Tuscany, Italy making cheese, playing table football and eating and drinking more than we think we ever have! Well, after all that hard work it’s only right that some serious down time is had – check out what went on here.
Summer break over, our final event of the year came in the shape of TheStadiumBusiness Design & Development Summit 2016, held at Emirates Old Trafford. The event drew in decision makers from almost every major stadium project in the world and we were so excited to have hosted our largest project delegation ever, representing over €10.2bn worth of construction! Yes, that’s another record smashed…
Not content with just record-breaking events, we also launched two brand new services; TickTechNews – an industry first news channel for ticketing folk, and TheStadiumBusiness News – using our vast web of industry contacts to report the latest in the industry to our lovely customers.
As the year draws to a close we couldn’t be more proud of what our little team has achieved from a tiny barn in Sussex. What’s even more exciting though, are the plans we have in place to make 2017 even more amazing. Take a look at what’s going on!
